LOCAL GOVERNMENT EDUCATION AREA ACTIVITIES, 1999-2007

HISTORICAL BACKGROUND

Musawa Local Government Education Authority was established in 1989 from the defunct Kankia Local Government. Alhaji Muhammad Nata’ala Sa’idu is the Education Secretary from 1999 – 2007. There are six zonal offices with headquarters at Musawa, Jikamshi, Kurkujan, Tabanni, Garu and Dangani. Each zonal office is headed by a zonal onspector of Education. The Local Government has two districts at Musawa and Jikamshi.

• Rehabilitation of the defunct NRC Secretariat for the LGEA in 1999
• Purchase of 2,000 copies of Islamic Textbooks.
• Construction of 95 three seaters desk in 2001.
• Recruitment of 95 teaching and non teaching staff in 2001.
• Procurement of 10,000 copies of exercise books in 2000
• Repair of motor vehicles
• Construction of 252 desk in 2005.
• Rehabilitation of Primary School classrooms for the year 2005 amounting N31,665,004.65K
• Provision for the recruitment of 351 teachers in 2006.
